Solar PV Installation/Service Engineer (Mechanical/Electrical)

Job Specification

£20,000 – £25,000 (depending on experience) + Overtime + Van + 20 Days annual leave plus bank holidays

The Role of a Solar PV Installation/Service Engineer:
Attending customers’ sites, you will be installing and maintaining various solar PV systems on a day- to-day basis. These (domestic and commercial) PV systems are mainly rooftop situated, however we also maintain a large portfolio of ground mounted PV systems. You will be carrying out new installations and maintenance on new and existing installations, utilising and testing your solar PV, mechanical, electrical and practical knowledge. You will liaise directly with the Operations and Commercial Manager’s at Solar South West and have direct interaction with clients and end customers alike.

Health and Safety also plays a significant part in this role with responsibilities including following company and site specific method statements and risk assessments. Whilst ensuring all staff, sub- contractors and visitors are partaking in safe methods of working.

On offer is a 12-month fixed term contract for an established Solar PV and O&M provider who are looking for a dynamic, hardworking installer to join the growing team.

The Candidate for the Solar PV Installation/Service Engineer position:
You MUST have a strong mechanical and electrical understanding and appreciation, ideally supported by relevant qualifications.
• You must have experience of installing solar PV systems, both domestic and commercial. With up-to-date solar PV qualification.
• Licenses for plant machinery such as tele-handler, 360, IPAF being highly desirable
• Additionally, First Aid desirable (but not essential)
• You must have a full driving licence for this role.
• Candidates with mechanical, engineering or electrical experience from within the forces are
also encouraged to apply.

Location:
The Solar PV Installation/Service Engineer role will be based out of Crewkerne and operate predominantly throughout the South West of England, however there maybe projects further afield and we would expect the successful candidate to be able to facilitate this, including but not limited to occasional working away.
